Spring has sprung, it’s shopping time!

Ήρθε και επίσημα πλέον η Άνοιξη και είναι καιρός να ανανεωθούμε, πράγμα που σημαίνει shopping, shopping και shopping!  Αντίθετα με τη χειμερινή σεζόν, όπου κυριαρχεί το layering, την Άνοιξη το βάρος πέφτει σε ιδιαίτερα κομμάτια και αξεσουάρ που μπορούν από μόνα τους να δώσουν στυλ  και χαρακτήρα στο ντύσιμό μας! Πρέπει λοιπόν να δούμε ποιες τάσεις θα υιοθετήσουμε, ποιες θα απορρίψουμε, πως θα πρωτοτυπήσουμε και στη συνέχεια να αναζητήσουμε τα κομμάτια που θα δώσουν αυτό το «κάτι παραπάνω» στο ντυσιμό μας. Όλο τον χειμώνα ονειρευόμουν σύνολα με βασικό στοιχείο σκισμένα, rock σορτσάκια, φαρδιά t-shirts ( η απόλυτη αδυναμία μου) και gladiator sandals (βαρεθήκαμε να τα βλέπουμε πέρσι αλλά εγώ τα λατρεύω) συνδυασμένα με ένα bad-ass δερμάτινο jacket (στην φαντασία μου δεν μπαίνει η παράμετρος «σκάει ο τζίτζικας») και εξίσου rock αξεσουάρ.

Η μανία που με έχει πιάσει με τα cut-offs έγκειται στο γεγονός ότι είναι ιδανικά για όλες τις ώρες της ημέρας. Πιο εκκεντρικά από ένα απλό σορτσάκι, πιο βολικά από ένα φόρεμα, αποτελούν την τέλεια βάση για να χτίσουμε τα πιο ευφάνταστα σύνολα.  Το πρωί συνδυάζονται με τα t-shirts, all starάκια / σανδάλια / σαγιονάρες και oversized τσάντες ενώ το βράδυ «δένουν» αρμονικά με ψηλά παπούτσια και θηλυκά τοπ!

Το Zara αναμφισβήτητα υιοθέτησε την Alexander Wang/Erin Wasson αισθητική καλύτερα από τον καθένα! Στα καταστήματα της αλυσίδας θα βρεις ο,τι χρειάζεσαι από σκισμένα denim σορτσάκια μέχρι τα λευκά ημιδιάφανα t-shirts που  συμπληρώνουν ιδανικά το look! Επειδή όμως Άνοιξη χωρίς έθνικ στοιχεία δεν γίνεται έχω αποφασίσει να «απατάω» τακτικά  τα ήδη λατρεμένα σορτσάκια μου με χρωματιστά φορεματάκια και σανδάλια σε γήινες αποχρώσεις συνδυασμένα με ξύλινα μεγάλα βραχιόλια και μακριά κολιέ! Ήδη βρήκα μερικά υποψήφια φορέματα στο Pull & Bear ενώ φρόντισα να αποκτήσω όσα αξεσουάρ (κυρίως βραχιόλια) θεώρησα ότι θα ταίριαζαν από το αγαπημένο μου Accessorize! Περνώντας βέβαια από το H&M δεν μπόρεσα να αντισταθώ σε αρκετά αξεσουάρ και κυρίως τα σκουλαρίκια! Με τόσο καλές τιμές είναι να μην υποκύψεις; Όσο για τα σανδάλια προσανατολίζομαι προς τη Nine West και αυτό το ζευγάρι gladiators, ή την Καλογήρου αν τελικά αποφασίσω να υποκύψω στην γοητεία των Miu Miu που με κοιτάνε με νόημα κάθε φορά που περνάω μπροστά από τη βιτρίνα!

Μου μένει ακόμα να βρω ένα denim, αμάνικο jacket το οποίο σκέφτομαι να συνδυάσω με μία tie-dye πασμίνα, που αγόρασα πρόσφατα από το Zara, και ένα μακρύ φόρεμα, outfit εμπνευσμένο από την αγαπημένη μου Nicole Richie και να αποκτήσω ένα ακόμη σκουρόχρωμο denim κολάν!  Ίσως να ακούγεται πολύ 80’s αλλά πιστέψτε με δεν είναι! Μοιάζει πολύ με το κλασσικό τζιν-σωλήνα και ταιριάζει τέλεια με peep-toe μπαλαρίνες και  girly μπλουζάκια. Πρέπει επίσης να κάνω μία έρευνα αγοράς για το ιδανικό καπέλο (στο Accessorize βρήκα το τελειότερο panama hat αλλά η αναζήτηση συνεχίζεται), να πάω μέχρι το Hondos Center να ανανεώσω τη συλλογή μου από Max Factor βερνίκια νυχιών (τα καλύτερα κατά τη γνώμη μου) και να βρω επιτέλους ένα ζευγάρι γυαλιά–καρδιές. Είναι τόσο όμορφα!

Επειδή όμως πάντα χρειαζόμαστε έμπνευση πριν από κάθε εξόρμηση στα μαγαζιά, κλείνω με την αγαπημένη μου fashionista. Μπορεί να χρειάστηκε τη βοήθεια της celebrity στυλίστριας Rachel Zoe για να ξεφύγει από το αντικειμενικά κακόγουστο παρελθόν της, αλλά η Nicole Richie έχει πλέον αποκτήσει δικαίως τον τίτλο της trend-setter.  Και γιατί όχι; Πρωτοτυπεί πάντα και επιλέγει ό,τι πιο κομψό, τόσο στο red carpet όσο και στις βόλτες της με την μικρούλα Harlow!

Spring has sprung, it’s shopping time!

Spring is officially here and it’s time for us to refresh ourselves, which can only mean one thing: Shopping, shopping, shopping! Unlike winter, where layering is the king of all styling ideas, in spring and summer we turn to unique clothes and accessories for that instant style fix. So, all we have to do before this new season is to watch out for trends to follow and trends to avoid, find ways to be different and look for pieces that will give that special extra something to our look.

I spent all winter dreaming of the outfits I could wear come summer. Outfits based on torn denim cut-offs, loose t-shirts (my favourite piece of clothing) and gladiator sandals (we were fed up with this trend last year, but I can’t stop loving them) combined with a bad-ass leather jacket (in my imagination “too hot” doesn’t exist) and equally rock-and-roll accessories.

The cut-off denim obsession, I have developed lately, is due to the fact they are totally versatile. More eccentric than simple denim shorts and more comfortable than a dress, they are the perfect base for style experiments. In the morning, they can be worn with t-shirts, all-stars/sandals/flip flops and oversized bags, whereas at night, they look amazingly fierce with high heels and feminine tops!

Zara has unquestionably managed to interprate the Alexander Wang/Erin Wasson aesthetics better than anyone else in the high street! At Zara stores one can find perfectly torn denim shorts and thin, almost see-through loose t-shirts, everything one needs to bring this look from catwalk to closet.

But spring without ethnic elements just doesn’t feel quite right, I have already decided to “cheat” on my beloved denim shorts with multicoloured sundresses worn with oversized wooden bangles and long necklaces. I have already found some candidates for my new favourite dress for spring over at Pull & Bear and I have also decided to acquire as many ethnic jewelery as I could (mainly bracelets) from my beloved Accessorize.

But, as I was walking by H&M later on, I couldn’t resist some more accessories, mainly earrings! With prices that low, how can you say no?

And as for sandals, I am thinking about investing in this pair of Nine West gladiators or Kalogirou shoe shop, if I decide to give into those Miu Miu sandals, that insist on staring at me through the window everytime I pass by!

All I have to do now is find a denim sleeveless jacket which I will pair with a tie0dye pashmina I recently got at Zara, and a floor-sweeping dress. An outfit inspired by my beloved Nicole Richie. Oh, and get yet another one dark-wash denim pair of leggings. It may sound too 80′s, but trust me, it’s not! It looks almost identical to a pair of classic drainpipe jeans and it looks great with peep-toe ballet flats and girly t-shirts.

I should also scour the market for the perfect hat (at Accessorize I found the most amazing panama hat, but the quest goes on) and also pop into a Hondos Center to renew my collection of Max Factor nail polishes (the best in my opinion) and find a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses. They’re too cute for words!

But, because we always need a source of inspiration before every trip to the stores, I end this post with my favourite fashionista. She may have needed celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe’s assistance to escape her stylistically bad past, but Nicole Richie is now rightfully a trend-setter. And why not? She is always ahead of trends and manages to look elegant but never boring, both on her red-carpet appearances as in her strolls with daughter Harlow.
